Heather Tucker is pleased to announce she has joined the Hedman Counseling Center team.
Do you feel stuck in your life or in your
relationships? Do you need someone who will listen with empathy and validate
your experiences while offering a direct approach? Feelings of being
overwhelmed and inadequacy are normal. It is at these times when counseling
can help us out of the negative cycles in which we feel trapped. I
specialize in helping people regain balance and find their joy in life
again. I offer counseling for children, adolescents, families, couples, and
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Choice Theory, Family Systems Theory, Mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have worked extensively with active duty and retired military members and their families, and have a vast knowledge of their unique challenges and strengths.
I consider it an honor to guide and walk alongside clients in their healing journey.
I grew up in Austin, TX and moved to Colorado Springs after receiving my Bachelors degree in Psychology from Baylor University. After working in adolescent residential treatment centers, I completed my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I then transitioned to a therapist, an adoption liaison to the Department of Human Services, and as a supervisor in several outpatient mental health centers. I have specialized in (and supervised) child and family therapy, community outreach programs, adoption, grief, and trauma.
I have vast knowledge of the unique challenges and strengths our active duty, retired military members, and their familiy members encounter.
I am married with two daughters and one step-daughter who is serving in the U.S. Navy. I reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Heather Tucker, LPC, PC, is comfortable working with any age, race, religion, color, national origin, sex (gender identity, sexual orientation), and disability.
